Summary
During the last recession, I was working in a Fortune 500 as an area VP, responsible for 6 locations and 35 people.
Everyone around us was closing branches and laying people off. I was committed to NOT allowing that to happen for my people.
So we made a massive pivot, selling something we had not sold before.
The pivot was CRITICAL, but there was something that was far more important for our success.

| 1:16.2 | major competitors shot a massive, massive amount of branches and locations laying off hundreds of people as did my company as well. |
| 1:27.8 | And you know I remember going through this and I remember that I committed to my team that we would not let anyone off and I committed to my |

| 1:41.6 | responsible for coming up for coming up with a profit plan and designing it, |
| 1:48.0 | leading the team through it and executing it. And I was the person that essentially would have to decide whether or not branches would close and people would be laid off |

| 2:09.7 | Here we go again, right? And you know in going through that recession in 2008 and 2009 it happened so unbelievably quickly in our space because the first thing that companies do is lay off people and cut jobs and that was the space that I was in. |
