Good morning. Welcome to Axios today. It's Tuesday, January 31st. I'm Nyla Boone. Here's

0:10.1

what we're covering today. The future of private spaceflight, plus a very rare green

0:15.2

comet appears in the night skies. But first, the US worries over Israel's democracy. That's

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken was in Jerusalem yesterday, where he weighed in on

0:33.5

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's plans for a judicial overhaul. Blinken urged

1:38.4

is just being discussed right now in the Knesset in the Israeli parliament, it is very clear

1:44.9

1:51.0

So can you share what Blinken said and why the US is weighing in now?

1:55.1

Until three weeks ago, this issue wasn't even on the radar of the Biden administration.

2:00.6

I think that many, many US officials wanted to sidestep this issue not to weigh in and

2:07.1

not to get involved hoping that somehow it will go away.

2:11.4

But I think that as time passed and hundreds of thousands of Israelis went to demonstrate
