A broad sell-off hit the market today, mainly driven by a slide in major technology shares as AI jitters returned.

The NASDAQ lead declines falling 1.9% as the big tech companies that have fueled the artificial intelligence rally dropped after a brief rally yesterday.

The S&P 500 was off 1.1% and the Dow Jones Industrial average dropped 0.8%.

Among individual companies, forged global stock surged by more than two-thirds after brokerage firm Charles Schwab agreed to purchase the platform, which allows investors to buy shares in private companies.

Shares of Metzerra jumped more than 14% after rival drug maker, Pfizer, prepared to sweeten its offer for the weight-loss startup.

Snap soared by almost 10% on news that the social media company would integrate

perplexity's AI-powered answer engine directly into Snapchat.

Salesforce shares dropped more than 5% amid wider concern about artificial intelligence demand

in the technology sector.

Penn Entertainment stock fell more than 10% after ESPN replaced its sports betting agreement

with the company in favor of a new deal with draft kings.

And more valchers finished up about half a percent despite a weekday for technology.
