75,000 Kaiser Permanente health care workers went on strike last week in the largest

walkout ever for health care workers in the United States. Voicing deep concerns over safe

staffing levels and inadequate pay over the course of their three-day strike,

the workers drew attention to the profound crisis gripping the capitalist health care system.

We need a new system. We need a new society. We need to demand that which may have sounded

impossible even a few weeks ago, but is not only realizable, but an imperative necessity. We are excited to have Professor Richard Wolf join us again for our regular weekly segment

last year over the strikes of unhappy disgruntled discont discontented, angry workers. Some of them have been in schools,

some of them have been in auto plants. In the case of the UPS workers, they didn't strike,

but they militantly prepared to strike and then, as a consequence, won some major concessions.
