Alyssa Ronic, we just watched the U.S. women's gymnastics team struggle more than we're used to in its first qualifying event in Tokyo.

And so now, right under the microscope, right alongside Simone Biles, is her teammate, Sunni Lee, a young gymnast that you spent a lot of time with for a profile you're reported.

So from that experience, what makes you think that Sunni is ready for all of this pressure?

Well, there were two moments. I think the first is just watching what she did at trials under the most extreme pressure.

All right. Over to one of the stars as well.

You expect her to be on the team.

Sunni Lee, the 18-year-old from St. Paul, Minnesota.

And what she has been doing at Meats for the past two years.

She's a maister on this event, but I tell you, this routine is so tricky.

She not only flies so high like this skill right here, look at that.

But there was also a moment in my reporting at Trials in St. Louis.

I spent a lot of time with her family, and I really wanted to see how they interact with each other.

We were about a half hour away from the venue at Her Folks Hotel. And they said, why don't you hop in the minivan with us and we'll

all drive together over to the venue. And I'm sitting in sort of the middle row of the white

sienna minivan and mom is driving. It's rush hour traffic and dad is talking to

Cheyenne who's sitting on my left, her sister and her four-year-old brother is sitting on the left

of her and he is just scream yelling his favorite lines from SpongeBob Squarepants and the other

two siblings are sitting in the back and they're watching YouTube videos very loudly

and it's just complete chaos.

I happen to catch her mom's eyes

in the rear view mirror

and she looks at me and says
