A fresh round of U.S. air strikes has begun on Iran near the Strait of Hormuz.

This after Iran violated the ceasefire with drone attacks on ships there.

Kaylee, those strikes are ongoing, according to senior U.S. defense officials.

Shortly after 4 p.m. Eastern, not long after the president hinted from the Oval Office that the U.S.

could respond to the IRGC attack on a Singapore flagged ship overnight in the Strait of Hormuz. The U.S. military began carrying out air strikes on Iranian targets.

As of 5 p.m. Eastern, those strikes were still ongoing.
