The Day 8 of the Twilight Zone Advent calendar and we have another two for one.

Joe Brown and Jay ask the same question. Please compare and contrast

the endings of walking distance and a stop at Willoughby. I think for me, you know, they are

similar in that they are about a guy who gets to a particular time in life. I see walking

distance about longing for the simpler time, you know, specifically your past.

But Willoughby isn't really about his own past, but just a kind of simpler place.

So I think when we're talking about the end and in walking distance, there's an acceptance

that you can't go back you know bitter as

that is but I think he will probably go on in his life and he might be a bit sad for a while

but he will be better for it whereas I think in Willoughby I don't think he saw any escape from

from his life.

There was no sort of like, okay, well, I'll just get on with things for Gart Williams.

He's too entrenched in it.

There was no way out for him, so he has to make that leap.

So in a bite-sized chunk, those are my sort of main differences.

What about you, Zach?

Yeah, walking distance is more bittersweet, but it's more, you know, quote unquote,

realistic ending.

And also, I don't think the rules of those kind of stories have been established yet in the

Twilight Zone.
