this pandemic. At the start, when countries like Taiwan and New Zealand were closing their

borders to keep out the virus, the UK decided against control, suggesting the virus would

inevitably get here anyway. Then this spring, when the need for travel restrictions had become

universally apparent Boris Johnson left India off the red list in the hope of getting a

post-Brexit trade deal. And that's how we got the Delta variant. Now, the government

have decided that they're going to loosen entry requirements for people who have been vaccinated

in Europe and the United States so that they don't have to self-isolate on arrival. Do

vaccines fundamentally change the equation so that this is a sensible idea? Or are we looking
