as we watch the first televised hustings for the Tory leadership. And of course this is a race

to also be the next Prime Minister. Aaron Burstani, how excited are you for this?

Very excited, Michael. I'm less excited for the climate conditions under which we're doing this,

but look, see this is a dry run for your show next Monday, where you'll be in the studio and

it's going to be what, 3940 degrees, I saw somewhere say 41 in London, which is just mind boggling.

It's three degrees warmer than the UK record. Yeah, I mean, it's worrying on a number of levels.

Of course, it's mainly worrying because of what it potends for the future and what climate

changes are already doing, but I am on a personal level also a little bit worried about melting here

on Monday night, but it's a big news day, so we will be here at 7 p.m.

Tonight, five candidates looking to be our next Prime Minister will take part in their first

live televised debate. Earlier this afternoon, there was a Zoom call hustings hosted by the website

Conservative Home. These were the pitches given by the candidates. I want us to be an aspiration

nation that unleashes opportunity right across this country. But the reality is we've had two decades

of low growth. We haven't seen those opportunities and we're now facing a major economic crisis

following COVID and the war of Russia in Ukraine. Choosing the leader of the Conservative Party,

however important that is, but the leader of our country who is going to take Labour to task

on their epic failures around the country to take on the SNP who are trying to tear us apart

to take on pride in the Lib Dems who are letting down communities across the UK.

But we can only do it. We can only do it if we get a clean start.

I voted leave and my main speech as an MP was to celebrate Brexit as a vote of confidence

in the United Kingdom and also in the British people. And I'm standing because I want to
