Here's McGrath with the story of Terone Power.

The great heart throb for female moviegoers in the late 1930s and early 1940s was Tarone Power.

He was young, strikingly handsome, and cast in roles designed to make the women swoon.

Whether it was as the male lead in thin ice, Cafe Metropole, Second Honeymoon in Old Chicago,

Marie Antoinette, Jesse James, a yank in the RAF, the mark of Zorro, or blood in sand.

Power was a dashing and romantic character second to none.

He came from a long line of actors, beginning with his Irish great-grandfather of the same name,

Toron Power, who was one of the most famous stage actors of Ireland, England, and the United States during the 1820s and 30s.

There were several other actors besides his great-grandfather, not only in his paternal line, but also on his maternal side.

Perhaps it was Terone Power's genetic destiny to become an actor.

Before he died at the young age of 44, Power appeared in numerous plays and in 52 movies.

Terode Edmund Power is born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and in 52 movies.

Deroad Edmund Power is born in Cincinnati, Ohio in May 1914. He is Irish and English on his father's side and French and German on his mothers.

Both his parents are actors.

His tall and ruggedly handsome father is famous for his work on the stage

and his tours of the United States, Britain and Australia.

Shortly after power is born, the family settles in Los Angeles

and the father begins his career in silent films,
