The Boost Hospitality Podcast, we're in episode 35 of season 8 and today I am talking

0:15.7

all about influencer marketing. I think influencer marketing has a pretty bad reputation of

0:21.6

the last couple of years. People have seen people like Paul from the White Moose Cafe,

0:27.6

have a big blogger storm with an influencer who wanted to basically promote that his audience

0:34.8

and property to her blogger audience. And you know, it all blew up because the blogger

0:42.0

didn't do the research. It became pretty much world news, which was crazy seeing it was just

0:47.2

a hotel in Dublin. A guy who's very, very good at outrage marketing and you know, it went

0:52.1

everywhere. And I can save this because I have sit on both sides being somebody that has

0:56.8

been in the hospitality industry and somebody who has been in the influencer industry. So for

1:02.1

those who may not know this 2017, my wife started up a blog called Two Traveling Tots and we were

1:09.3

traveling all over the world and we were blogging about it and we grew up a pretty big following

1:13.6

of engaged followers. And we as we were traveling, we were reaching out to potential hotels or

1:22.6

accommodation places that that may want to work together. And so we witnessed it on both sides.

1:27.0

I've been to big blogging conferences, influencer conferences have been, you know, to to these

1:32.4

events. And you know, I've worked, we have worked with companies from the blogging from the

1:37.3

blogging sphere. And you know, obviously from the hospitality side, I have worked with influencers

1:42.0

as well. So I can see it from both sides. And it's I believe it's one of the most unused

1:48.2

market tactics out there. I wanted to speak to somebody who is in the world of hospitality and

1:53.7

is working with influencers to bring in a lot of his his bookings and inquiries. And I also

1:59.9

wanted to speak to somebody who is the founder and the co owner of an influencer agency. So we've

2:08.4

literally got two sides here. Now the goal for this episode, but I want that everybody to come

2:14.0

away with is to know exactly the different types of influencers because influencer marketing has
