Summary
This week's guest is a little different from our usual entertainer! Tyler Shields is a world renowned photographer know for his provocative work, celebrity photoshoots and bridging the gap between art and fashion.
Tyler has shot nearly every famous performer including Bruce Willis, Lindsay Lohan, Aaron Paul, Marilyn Manson, and Charlotte Lawrence.
However it’s his interesting origin story of being a wonder-kid competitive rollerblader touring with Tony Hawk, meeting Michael Jackson and developing his personal photography style thats really interesting. The two met at Dane Cook’s game nights and discuss their initial reaction’s to each other and a few of Rick’s interesting game tactics.
Tyler openly discusses one of his most famous shoots of Kathy Griffin holding a fake severed head of Donald Trump and how the backlash that had him monitored by the Secret Service. The two discuss his other controversial shoots commenting on consumerism, celebrity, sex, power and how, unlike Rick, he has minimal anxiety if any at all.
Rick gets into the details of money and how much Tyler’s images sells for (*it's a lot) and the intricate process of printing them on platinum.
