I would say for the first time, especially since I've been watching World Cups of the US, I would say it's the first time that we can really be so, so excited about something like this.

This is the start of something special.

It's Roch Delighted to be back again with a young American fresh back from World Cup duty, where we represented our nation wearing the Captain's Horn band as a US men returned to World Cup action after eight long years away.

Let's be honest, so many of you listening, I know I did, dreamt as a kid of playing World Cup football, of making big plays in massive moments.

I know, I know my guest did, he made those childhood dreams come real, and it was honestly magnificent to watch him thrive,

and it's easy every moment to charge around the field with belief, and confidence, and courage.

Let's just say happy New Year, Tyler Adams, what a year 2022 was for you, some incredible journey, the move to the Premier League, the dominant standout American performance at the World Cup,

surviving podcasting with me, and New Year's Eve happens in a crazy period in English football, where you play like 85 games over the course of seven days, where were you when the clock struck 12 on New Year's Eve?

Actually, my brother was here, and it was really nice to have him in town in Leeds, it was his first time in Leeds, and I'm very lucky to have my girlfriend here as well, but we were out and about, we were in the town of Herigert, just out relaxing, grabbing some food and enjoying New Year's Eve.

Oh, Herigert, aka, fancy Leeds, but Tyler, the World Cup, 13-day Odyssey for the United States men, as I say that, does it feel real to you, or in that surreal mid-season break that the World Cup caused? There's almost feel like a dream?

Yeah, a little bit, you know, there's a lot of talk around having the World Cup mid-year, and what that would feel like, you know, for a player that was playing in their first World Cup, it's all that you know now, is playing mid-year,

so you know, my preparation getting up to that, nothing was really different. You know, I focused on what I was doing here with Leeds, and they had good preparation, good amount of games to get me into form before going into the World Cup, which was nice, and then, yeah, landing in Qatar, it feels like everything happened so quickly, and you know, in the span of four weeks, you know, your journey starts, and it can be over, and you know, the realization that you come to in that short amount of time is that only one team leaves happy.

That is the truth of sports, that is the truth of life, but the four games that you played, and we all gonna break them down, did the time there go super fast for you, or was it slow and kind of deep and rich?

It was slow, deep and rich, because there was 12 minutes of add a time on to every half, so...
