Man, since I met you, man, you always treated me like family, man, and I always appreciate that, man.

No, for sure. Like when you called, I had to do it. Like I usually don't do stuff like this, but when I said Q and D miles, I definitely had to come out supporting.

And you first got to the league and you started getting planned time. Who was the first person to bust your ass?

John Stockton. Yeah, John Stockton. So he was strong. It's the mother one. And he was dirty. Yeah, he was dirty. But there was like, you know, the first 35 games, you know, I didn't play at all.

And so it was a lockout season. So we had 50 games in my first game. My play was against Utah. And so I had a little success picking my full court running around. And then he got frustrated. He got mad. And then so I guess they call time out.

Like drew a play up in the back court. Carmel on lay me out with a screen. Yeah, drop me drop me like I'm like stars and yeah, yeah. And so I got you young fellow. And I laid up like 10 seconds. Got up. But my first game, like said, gets John Stockton one of all time.

And you see how big his calves was. Yeah, like I am when I seen John Stockton because he was kind of like I welcome to the NBA to in a sense because you know, we coming off that that bulls growing up.

Yeah, the bulls. Yeah, the bulls beating them. So you know, we getting in the league. Like, yeah, we gonna kick their ass too. And soon as we played them, they just used to kick our ass. Like every time we played them, like no matter where it was, especially in Utah.

And then it was a lot of cheating going on in Utah too, but it was harder went up there. You know, it was hard.

Yo, yo, yo, we live on location in a secret private location. I ain't gonna tell them, black. You feel me? We got a list. We got one of the best coaches in the NBA. He's a world champion, a world champion.

He's a player two times. And then he now is a coach in a world champion. One of the hardest championships coming down from three, one. He did that. We got one of our peers, Taran coaches doing it big.

That's come. I know how it is. Mexico. Yeah, Mexico. You know, you come from a small town. And how was it for you? Like in high school? Because you went through the American dream, the journey.

I already get to everything that you got. So how was it when you was in high school and and who been winded? You know that you was like nice enough to just do something, but they weren't looking.

It was different because I thought was nice, but you know, come up with a small town. The plan to get two way of schools. Like so you really don't know like how good you are, how good you can be. So my sophomore, you ain't no moving the Kansas City. You know, my uncle and plan against, you know, better players more talent. It was different. Like where I'm from in Mexico.

We plan against six three centers. So I got to Kansas City like Derek Hood, you know, he's six eight six nine and planning against all the different players. And so it was a lot different, but I needed that to get to that next level. Like because in Mexico, we don't have schools coming to check out, you know, do you want schools, wasn't coming to check us out and, you know, seeing a little kid from Mexico, Missouri.

I was five nine the time they wasn't checking it out. So my stages in Kansas City where I had a chance to play against some good players, they would come and watch them play with the idea of chances, you know, kind of still to show a little bit and it was see me. So it all worked out, but Mexico's, you know, born and raised and that's, that's what's instilled in me every single day.

I was your recruiting process. Like, well, when I was a freshman in Mexico, nothing.

I want to Kansas City, play my sophomore year. And then that my going to my dream year, I had played a you with the Kansas City blue and I was Derek Hood, Manny dies and a lot of different players. So when I got on that scene, that's when I kind of got named for myself.

And I lost, he has thought trap, we played in L.A. We played in Vegas and things kind of turned around for me at that point. How was it for you as far as like, could we come from that era where we had to go read the rankings and you get your cats and you literally like, because we like, I can remember going to the first camp you seeing like, you know, this like a whatever Bob hub Bob, I can't remember.
