Good morning and thanks for joining me for Rise and Crime, your morning caffeine hit,

All About Crime.

I'm Mama Jules, and we have another theme running through today's show.

It happens so often that it creeps me out just a little bit.

It kind of makes me wonder if we're living in a simulation.

But today, the theme is escapes.

And our first story has to do with an ugly racial neighbor dispute that has now turned into a man charged with capital murder on the run.

We have to head back to the summer of 2022 to learn about the disputes between

then 29-year-old Trevor McEwen and 35-year-old Aaron Martinez. Now, I've done some digging,

and it seems Trevor lives on some acreage in North Texas in an area called Forney. Trevor's

Instagram has videos of him like on tractors and he has longhorn cattle on his

land and it's actually really pretty.

Vendor records show that Trevor established his business in 2016.

He's sort of a construction guy with a little bit of freight hauling thrown in, a little

bit of this, a little bit of that.
