forward slash support. Today marks two years since Hamas fighters broke out of Gaza and attacked

military installations, kibbutzim and a music festival in Israel. That means it has also been

two years since Israel

launched an assault on the enclave, one that quickly turned into an operation of unmatched slaughter,

rampant destruction and unconstrained barbarity, a genocide in short, one that has only intensified

over the last 24 months and that has left the future of Palestine and Palestinians

in great peril. On October 7, 2023, in an incursion that lasted several hours, around 4,000

armed fighters from Hamas and other groups, along with some 2,000 civilians, took part in what was

called Operation Alaksa Flood. At 6.30 a.m., some reached the Nova Music Festival,

where young Israelis had been partying over a holiday weekend.

That soon turned into a bloodbath when fighters using motorbikes, trucks and paragliders

descended on the crowds, firing indiscriminately and taking hostages.
