Okay. Happy Sunday night, everybody. Welcome to the Roto Wire Fantasy Baseball podcast. I am Scott Jansda. Join, as always, on Saturday nights by Jeff Erickson. If you please, way to be the

podcast. If you listen to us all year, we'd really appreciate that. Jeff, it's another, another football Sunday where we have to talk, we got to, you know, kind of power through and get our fab in and all that. And, uh, yeah, a lot of good baseball races here, but how are you tonight? Doing well, uh, yeah, a lot of great baseball races. You know, I, I have some great races, including one where you and I are one, too, in a league. Yeah. That I, it's, it's, it's fun that that became a pretty good sweat, uh, pretty good sweat. Uh, and then, you know, a couple other leagues that are fun. I wish my main event teams were a sweat, but that's okay. Uh, but it's fun to have a dog in the race with the Reds, uh, even, even though, even when it's painful on a day like today where they lose and everybody else wins, it's seemingly there. But, yeah, hanging on every day, every pitch, it's wild, especially in the National League where there's so many. Yeah, so many teams are still in it. Yeah, main event-wise, I have a couple of middling teams. We talked about a bunch, but I have one team that is in second place right now. I looked at today can gain like seven points down the stretch of things go. Well, it could get me close to first, but it's like everything has to go pretty well, but like seven actual attainable points, not like, you know, catching 12 home runs, but like catching up three home runs or right. I went through all all the categories today I'm almost dead last and stole basis in the whole thing but like I can't the person behind me can't catch me I can't catch person for me so I'm just giving up I finally I'm fully going not even worried about stolen basis trying other categories but it's it's wild you got names we don't normally talk about names we didn't draft about names didn't think about that are that are really important down the stretch. September baseball is different, but fun in its own way and frustrating its own way, too. Oh, 100%. And, you know, the thing is there have been, you know, all season long we've been talking about how it hard is to acquire a saves. Well, there have been some attainable saves lately um and that's made a difference

2:18.9

uh and that and that made event i picked up ryan healthy last week three save week i mean that it was

2:23.3

it was massive oh yeah huge huge week there and you know he he was cut in so many different

2:30.5

leagues that you know it's just it's there's a little bonus for. That, that one, that's been big for us. You know, just, I'm looking at Yahoo friends and family that we're in together there. And that, that's, uh, one where I've been able to kind of scrounge around a little bit. I held Helsley all along. That was something where, uh, where I've been able to sneak in. We do have an I an IL slot there. We're two of them. So that helps a lot in holding Hellsley. Yes. Yeah. It certainly does. And yeah, he he got one a day. Alex Lang was in. He's out. He's in. He's out as the closer. He's back in. And he's been, you know, that was a fun little pickup. Tanner Scott has been a great human being for the month of September. He has been, he's been, he's been as valuable as as a player in the, in the month of September for fantasy. He's had saves. He had an inning in two thirds win. He's, he's been on fire. Pete Fairbanks blew one today, but he's been great in another league that I'm in.

3:21.5

It's just, it's finding those little heroes. He blew a, he blew a big one today though. Yeah, he did. They went, Tim Bay win that game. They're back. I know they clinched the playoffs, but they would have been back tied with Baltimore with two weeks left. Now they're two back. I'm really rude for Baltimore. I really like that team. They are, they are a lot of fun. another walk-off win today.

3:25.0

After dropping Friday's game, they won, uh, they won Saturday and Sunday.

3:44.4

That's a, it's been a fun, uh, fun little race. Both of those teams are easily in the playoffs, but the, at least has still been fun with those two teams. Absolutely. Uh, really, really fun watching them go.

3:39.1

I got to give Fairbanks credit.

3:40.8

A little bit of grace, though, because

3:42.9

he asked me to get a two-inning save through 39 pitches. So that's, you know, go pick up Robert Stevenson for the next save opportunity, perhaps. Jeff, we already got him. I already got him. All right. I figure you did. He's been really good for like a month and a half. He's been really, I know that he got to save this week too, but the ratios and strikeouts have been really nice. You know, the rays do this every year. They find these relievers. Robert Stevens freely available to the whole world. Yep. Was it the Nats that cut them? Or was the pirates that cut him? It was the pirates that cut them. The pirates. You could use a guy like that, right? Yeah. You know, Sean Armstrong, available everywhere. You know, at the beginning of the season, he's been amazing for them. He also blew it today, too. But the point is he's been, he's been so good all along.

4:48.1

He had a 0.80 whip and a 0.76 IRA this year coming into this game.

4:54.1

You know, Jake Deekman has been so much better with the rays than the white sucks.

4:58.5

Go figure.

4:59.4

But they do this all the time.

5:01.5

And, you know, Kevin Kelly, another guy, no profile at all.

5:05.1

And they just, they turn these guys into something.

5:08.2

Robert Stevenson in the second half, 20 innings, 1.35 ERA, 094 average against,

5:15.7

with a 47.8 percent strike out rate and a 4% walk rate.

5:19.4

Like that is a bonkers set of,

5:21.3

as good as a reliever instead of 20-nings can get.
