Hello and welcome to the Borgia Pan Podcast, probably the best way of learning about life in Japan without actually being in Japan.

0:23.0

I'm Chris Broaden with joined by Top London Radio DJ, Japanophile and now Birthday Boy Pete Roller-McDonaldson.

0:30.0

Thank you, mate. Thank you for giving me a birthday bump, so to speak. Yeah, it's a nice time. You're also a tourist, right?

0:37.0

You're also an April Birthday boy.

0:39.0

I am a tourist. Yes. I didn't know that. I didn't know our birthdays for two weeks apart.

0:44.0

Yeah. I saw on Facebook it was your birthday. Like most people don't actually know the date of your birthday.

0:51.0

Two weeks and several years. Did you have a nice birthday? What does a Japanese boy birthday look like?

1:00.0

It looks like me sitting in a bar alone with my pet, my toy cat, and just sitting drinking slowly, looking at the table and just wondering why.

1:11.0

No, it was a good birthday, actually. I met up with some friends and I told you I bought the desk, got the desk, and more recently.

1:18.0

It was a birthday present to myself, yeah. So I remember years ago I get excited about Buzz Lightyear for my birthday on Nintendo 64's and Playstations and now a desk. It's come to that.

1:32.0

That's when you know you're an adult, right? You get excited by a bloody desk. I've topped it off this week by boy and myself.

1:38.0

I've got a swanky chair to go with it. So now I'm sorted mate. The only problem is I've very stupidly put the chair and the desk on a tatami room mat. So you know tatami mat for the kind of very delicate fragile material.

1:53.0

And my wheels of my chair just torn it up to pieces very stupidly. So now I've got to invest in a carpet. So I knew this would happen. I knew I'd get a desk and it would lead to a domino effect.

2:03.0

I've got to buy lots and lots of additional things. I would have been rubles for your birthday.

2:08.0

I would have been a birthday. Well I've not seen a few, I've not seen many people since I've had my birthday because I was on holiday for about 10 days and I just got back on my birthday.

2:19.0

Starting in Denver went down through Colorado Springs, Boulder and down through New Mexico, Tows, went to Tows, Wheeler's little art collective, sort of Mexican town.

2:31.0

And then across to San Antonio then out of Austin. But man, I love that part of the world.

2:39.0

Yeah, I've been meeting to go around there. If I could drive around one part of America, it would be there. I'd live in Seattle and I would holiday around New Mexico in Colorado.

2:48.0

I would definitely live in. Lucky devil. I would definitely live in some, I really liked Colorado Springs. What a beautiful part of the world.

2:55.0

It's a beautiful, massive mountains and it's just like a little city. Very interesting. Very interesting.

3:01.0

And yet it's not your only holiday this year, is it? It's not my only holiday this year. I've actually already had a holiday as well.
