This episode, Amanda Martin, Labour Party candidate in Portsmouth North. If you could change anything about the 2016 referendum (excluding the result() what would it be? 8. What do you admire most about one of the other main party candidates standing against you? 9. Do you think the NHS will always remain free at point of use?

0:30.7	asking for overtime with the editing, but we'll let you crack on. So Amanda. Well, don't worry,
0:35.7	double time of zero is still zero, right? Exactly. Exactly. We need to both join a good union. That's what you need.
0:44.1	So again, there's a marvellous, a great start. So would you like to introduce yourself and kind of what was, how did you get into politics and how do you find yourself as the
0:55.2	Portsmouth North candidate for Labour? So yeah my name is Amanda Martin and I have been a teacher
1:01.6	in this city for 22 years and I guess that's how I got involved into politics. I became a
1:08.1	school rep in my school and after about 18 months went along to the
1:14.5	officers meeting, became a local caseworker. And at that time we had around 50% of teachers.
1:20.2	I was in the NUT, around 50% of the teachers in the city in my union. And then we've merged
1:26.4	with the ATL and become the Lash Education Union and
1:29.3	our membership has grown and we now cover over 70% of teachers in the city as well as support
1:35.3	staff. In our new union role we take anyone who's in education because actually when you're in
1:42.3	the classroom when you're in the school it kind you're in the school, you're kind of
1:44.6	all in it together really. So I got involved in trade union. I've been trade union rep for
1:50.2	about 18 years and I'm now the national president of my union as well as the branch and district
1:58.5	secretary of the local group in Portsmouth um so I
