I want to start, though, with the bad news. Get that out of the way first before we start talking

about some of the new contracts that have been paid out today or are rumored to be imminently paid out to some star players around the league.

Howard Mudd, who a long time, offensive lineman, offensive line coach, he was an all pro, former player dies at the age of 78. And I just wanted to mention it.

I mean, Howard Mudd was literally the guy who wrote the book on offensive line play.

Yeah. And he's well known from what I understand as being well ahead of his time and one of the

very innovators of the Shanahan zone blocking,

you know, a lot of it back then was going low. I mean, they've changed the rules at that point.

Beloved guy, one of the greatest, if there was a Hall of Fame for assistant coaches, I mean,

I think he'd be one of the early induction type guys. And I've never met him, but I've heard many, you know, glowing reports about him and what he

brought to the game and the history of the NFL can't be written without mentioning his name.

And for people who don't realize it, I mean, it's a little bit of a generalization, but

offensive line coaches are kind of like their own cult.

Well, Howard Mudd was like the president of the fraternity from what I understand.

What was the name of the Brown's offensive line coach who got famous during hard knocks

because of his big old gut and he would say hut, hut, and his whole gut would move.
