The genesis of what we're doing is I'm way too anxious.

I get worked up, strung up on different stories in the news. Pretty much everything in the

news. And I've been tempted before to just give up. Like it's too much. But that's not good.

Because these things that are in the news, they affect your life. They affect how you raise your family

and you're trying to put food on the table. These things matter. So the goal of this podcast

is to stay engaged with the topics, the stories of the day, but lean into that anxiety.

Lean into it, lament it, as we'll do later, and then provide some historical perspective

because there's nothing new under the sun and then some biblical peace so that we can go

to sleep at night and wake up and be rested to fight another day. Politics by faith. The last

couple weeks, we've had two different versions that have lived here on this podcast. One is from the

TV show, the final segment of the TV show. We've been doing a smaller version. And then twice a week, we have the longer official podcast version. And that's what this is right

here. I think a bit of a longer one today. The TV show ones are a little pithier. I figured

today we can perhaps go a little longer and then maybe tighten them up once the TV show ends. We're just doing the TV

show every day up until the midterms, which is only a week away. Anyway, let's get to it.
