Authorities found her body more than two months after she had vanished.

Her remains were discovered in a shallow grave east of her barracks.

Vanessa Gien was born on September 30th, 1999 in Houston, Texas.

She was a first generation, Mexican-American, and from an early age, she expressed that she wanted to enlist in the military to serve and protect her country.
