The Twilight Zone. The Twilight Zone is a bit different than being a fan of pretty much anything else at the moment.

Especially now,

when we consider franchises span multiple media

and then just continue to expand and expand.

So if we take franchises like Star Trek or Star Wars,

if you want to continue those on screen

or in spin-off novels, there are characters whose stories you can continue, threads you can pick

up, gaps in continuity that you can try to fill, a multitude of ways to tie the new back to the old.

But with the Twilight Zone, it's a little different.

Our continuing character, our thread that tied all the things together, and the very foundation

on which everything was built was Rod Sailing.

Now of course there have been two more Twilight Zone series that have been numerous Twilight Zone books featuring new stories

but the inescapable problem that every Twilight Zone after the original has to contend with is that rod sailing

shaped hole at the center of it. Now for some Twilight Zone fans the show begins in
