Tonight on the Twilight Zone podcast I've made a choice.

A choice to turn my back on internet anger and embrace the Friends of the Twilight Zone podcast

and your thoughts are not all men. But time is of the essence for me this

week so I'm just going to dive straight into it. Here's your thoughts on that episode.

One of the great things about the Twilight Zone was that it oftentimes put the viewer in the shoes of the other.

And tonight's episode of the new series, Not All Men, puts male viewers in the shoes of women.

And to my knowledge, which is limited, this might be some new ground for the Twilight Zone.

I can't think of that being a topic or an issue in the original series or the remakes.

I could definitely be wrong about that.

But I thought the episode was really well done.

All these episodes are beautifully made, but this one was just really smart in the way that it dealt with the subject. So essentially, the story is that a meteor shower hits this town and the meteors turn all of the men into an amalgam of Jack Nicholson and the Shining and Lou Phrygno's Incredible Hulk from the

70s TV series and some sort of you know zombie you know they basically

take the zombie horror film conventions and use those to explore toxic

masculinity and gender norm social socially constructed gender norms.

So, um, as a feminist, I thought this was a great, uh, episode and it dealt with really

important stuff. I, I also love how they, both as a device and as a bit of writing, you know, the first scene, the protagonist is at work,

she's really career-driven and wants to have a good career. She's on the phone with her

boss. Her boss is being condescending and pedantic and cutting her off and he's being a jerk.
