twice told tale program and what we do with these programs is we take a look at a radio program

and then we take a look at how the script got recycled onto another program. And sometimes there

are big differences and big changes and sometimes there are smaller changes. This week we're

going to get to see how a script was adapted from the United States to Australia.

The story begins with the adventures of the Abbots. This series was launched over NBC in the fall

of 1954. It was based on the Pat and Jean Abbott novels by Francis Crane and it even used the

naming device of her novels in including a color in the title the first episode being the brown

paper bag and others being things such as the Midnight Black Records or the Rick Shaw Red Lipsticks.

This ran for 35 weeks until it was canceled. The scraps for the adventures of the Abbots

were reworked into it's a crime Mr. Collins series for the mutual network that essentially

renamed Pat and Jean Abbott as Greg and Gail Collins. Greg Collins was reportedly played by

Amanda Cramer and Gail Collins played by an actress named Gail Collins. And this I have to be a bit

incredulous about because I haven't found any contemporary accounts that support that. Plus I
