Hello, everyone, and welcome to This Week in Fantasy Baseball. I'm Johnod, joined by my co-host, Patrick Fitzgerald. We have reached a new year. It is 2026. So happy new year. Patrick, how are you doing?

Hey, John, I'm doing okay. Happy to be stepping into a new year, fantasy baseball season, getting a little little closer which I'm excited about after the

Ravens you know broke our hearts a little early this year and now we uh fired our coach so big big football

change is coming but that can uh that can't wait till next year I'm kind of getting excited for baseball

and I'm honestly thinking about drafting sometime before the month is over so we'll see if I get around

to it but yeah yeah I'm looking forward to the Wow. I did not see John Harbaugh getting axed as something that could have happened. But it feels like he's just been there for the longest time. Yeah, but similar, Vikings were out of the contention pretty quickly through the season. So not a lot to root for in terms of football. Basketball's been going pretty well. Hockey's been going pretty well. But baseball season is picking up already. I know we've got pitch gone coming up at the end of this month. So that's happening. And then WBC is like, feels like it's just around the corner as well. I know, you know, players have been

announcing what teams they're playing for. It feels like most of the free agents have signed. I know

there's still a couple really big ones that are still out there. But yeah, just in like, what,

six weeks, eight weeks, pitchers and catchers report. And we're going to be back into this

craziness again yeah really

it really would be nice to see some of those big names get ticked off just so when we're

dominos start to fall into place but it's not a big deal as long as you know big names must

start like leaking into like mid-spring training like sometimes happens that would be you know

just kind of a headache for for fantasy planning and

just for the teams too for sure yeah imagine trying to figure out where to draft Kyle Tucker because

you have no idea where he's going to be ending up so yeah definitely some weird things to figure out but

we are going to talk today about 2025 and just looking at some underperforming and overperforming pictures from last year, just looking at, yeah, what was kind of going on there?

Is this an indicator of anything special?

And how can we interpret that to apply to 2026?
