Summary

In this week's mini-episode, I'm sharing a question from listener, Annie in Minnesota. She asks for ways to keep multiple work projects and little tasks organized so that she can work on them at the right times. I'm giving multiple tips for how you can map out your goals and projects using systems, and how to manage the time you allocate to those tasks.

Hello, hello, everyone. I'm Tanya Dalton, owner of Inquell Press, and I'm here to give you another episode of The Weekender.

0:08.7

These are many episodes I'm releasing every Friday with a productivity tip, story, or inspiration to help you end your week on the right note.

Now this week in our regular episode of Productivity Paradox, we wrapped up season three,

0:23.1

which was all about systems with an Ask Tanya episode. And as promised, I had a great question

0:29.4

that I wanted to tackle during today's mini episode. And it was from Annie in Minneapolis,

0:34.7

Minnesota, who said, I have a ton of little projects going on at once,

0:39.1

and it's a challenge to keep track of where I am for each. How do you keep your multiple work

0:44.4

projects organized so they're easy to pick up when it's time? And my answer is systems. I think when

0:52.0

you have multiple projects, it's even more important to have systems.

0:55.9

That way, nothing ends up falling between the cracks. One of the things I do is I allot time

1:01.9

to work on each of the projects. I call them containers. So I create containers to work on

1:07.8

each specific project. For example, I'm actually launching a brand new

1:13.3

course today. This has been a major project that I've been working on for months and months.

1:19.9

But during that time, I still had my fall planner launch. I had some new designs that needed work.

1:25.1

I redid my website. So I had to prioritize.

1:28.4

So what I did was I gave myself blocks of times to work towards these goals.

1:33.3

So I started out with 30 minutes twice a week to start mapping my course out.

1:38.4

And I knew that on Tuesday and Thursdays,

1:40.7

I needed to make sure and plan for those 30-minute containers dedicated to creating

1:45.3

structure for the course. As I got further along, I increased the number of containers I allotted

1:51.0

for this project. I ramped it up to doing 30-minute blocks five times a week, and then four-hour-time

1:57.3

blocks a week, whatever it is that I needed to ensure I was working consistently.
