Ryan Kraus dragging the swamp for clues once again as we delve into the baffling

disappearance of nine-year-old Asia Degree, who mysteriously vanished in the early morning

hours of February 14, 2000, after packing a bag and leaving her family Shelby, North Carolina home on foot,

bound for an unknown destination.

In more than 18 years since that fateful day.

Little has been unearthed about the reasons why Aisha, a shy, polite, and sheltered girl would

venture into darkness on a cold winter night getting pounded by a driving rain while not even wearing a coat.

It's a case that offers more questions than answers, more curveballs than clues. So at the end of the line, what the public receives

is the same regurgitated list of physical and circumstantial evidence and an assertion

her parents are innocent. But guess what? That's not working and

it's obvious to me why that's the case. It's a phenomenon that often takes place in the greatest mysteries, specifically the ones that defy logic to the extent they seem to include divine intervention.

Our love of mystery is derived solely from the singular idea that there may be more beyond the realm of what we know in this world,

and the root of that idea begins with our Creator.

In the same way adopted children can become very curious about the identity of their biological parents,

humanity seeks the same.

Where do we come from? Where do we go? We understand what lies between. But origin and

destination dictate the nature of the journey upon which we embarked.

If I know you're at home on a really hot summer day around noon and then learn you drowned

in the deep end of a public swimming pool three hours later?

It doesn't help to talk about the route you took in getting to the pool.

No matter how many details it involves, and even if that precipitated the exhaustion that led to the drowning.
