It features a seemingly endless parade of Sinclair Broadcast Group TV news anchors,

those smiley folks so trusted by their local audiences,

speaking from the heart.

The sharing of biased and false news has become all too common on social media.

More alarming, some media outlets publish these same fake stories without checking facts first.

Okay, not from the heart necessarily, but from the teleprompter, all with the same script.

The video was put together by Timothy Burke at Deadspin, the sports website, and to date it's

been viewed more than seven and a half million times. And it's put the spotlight back on Sinclair's right-wing political activism.

Here mouthed by local journalists, other times by the in-house reactionaries at headquarters,

and sometimes must-run long-form content.

In 2004, for instance, the company produced a hit piece on then-presidential

John Kerry focusing on his Vietnam-era anti-war activism. As I heard John Kerry speak,
