As Omicron continues to pop up in more states around the country, we're getting a rare,

good piece of news in the age of COVID-19.

According to preliminary data, it looks like the new variant could be a milder form of

the virus.

As of today, Omicron has been detected in 38 nations around the globe, but the World

Health Organization has yet to record a single death from the new strain.

This could be a really positive development, right?

Don't pop a champagne corks yet.

Omicron has been found in 19 US states, as I speak to you right now.

It is clearly going to spread too far more than that.

Now, if this were a substantially more lethal virus, sending more people into the hospital,

if it were clear that it even evaded all of the vaccine or perhaps even natural immunity,

protective powers that we relied on up to this point, or we believed we could rely on

up to this point, that would be caused for major concern.

Now it is early, and we don't know, and there'll be more information coming out soon.
