What if you could go to jail for having a bad thought?

You understand that's not something that is in the movies, that's real.

We're going to talk about that coming up next, and I'm right.

You know what it was like in East Germany under communism?

Have you ever looked into it?

A lot of people know about the Berlin Wall falling down, and a little bit about West Germany and East Germany and the differences and whatnot, but let's do just a brief explainer on that before we get to Facebook and Joe Biden and Gen Socki and censorship here.

What it was really like, because the West was free in East Germany that were run by the communist.

It was like in the East, you know that you could and often were arrested for having a bad thought.

Now, what qualifies as a bad thought?

What could get you locked up in the slamer with your fingernails pulled out, even shot sometimes?

One complaint about the country.

Not even complaining about the communist party specifically.

You didn't have to get caught saying these commies are scum.

I think we should revolt.

If you walked into the often empty grocery stores and looked around and said,

this sucks.

I wish we had more food.

That would be enough to get you thrown in jail.

Americans, you and I, have been blessed to live in a country where we've had mostly free speech for a long time.

And because we've been blessed enough to only know that, that's all you know, that's all I know.

We think that is just for everyone, that everyone lives that way.

We don't understand how the other half lives across the world in many nations today, having a bad opinion can get you thrown in jail.
