Christ's command to his followers before his ascension to heaven was for them to be his witnesses in Jerusalem, all Judea, in Samaria, and to the uttermost part of the earth.

The Bible says in verse one, now when they had passed through Empyphilus and Apollonia,

they came to Thessalonica. You know that name? There are two books in your New Testament,

written to the church at Thessalonica. In fact, the church at Thessalonica would become known as

the model church.

They're fascinating letters.

And in so many ways, it seems that what God did there in Thessalonica became a pattern

that other churches could follow.

But it might interest you to know that everything that was set in motion in Thessalonica
