This is the movement of the Holy Family.

Welcome to our Rosary Meditations.

Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for,

especially all the names submitted to our prayer intentions.

Now we continue to meditate on the teaching of Jesus in this sermon on the Mount where Jesus said,

You have heard that it was said an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth, but I say to you,

Do not resist one who is evil.

But if anyone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.

Here, Jesus is not teaching that we should be a doormat and not defend ourselves.

Jesus is teaching that we must have a radical commitment to forgiveness

and a rejection of all sinful anger, hatred, and vengeance, because we cannot solve evil

with more evil.

As St. Paul tells us, we must resist evil and overcome it with good.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallow would be your name.

Thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us to stay our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass

against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
