0:50.2	Dr. Susan Monares, has been fired.
0:52.9	Earlier this evening, the Department of Health and Human Services announced that Dr.
0:57.2	Monars is, quote, no longer director of the CDC.
1:01.0	She was confirmed by the Senate less than a month ago.
1:04.6	The Washington Post report, she was pressed for days by HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy
1:09.3	Jr., administration lawyers and other officials
1:12.2	over whether she would support rescinding certain approvals for coronavirus vaccines.
1:18.2	Kennedy and other officials questioned Menares on Monday on whether she was aligned with the
1:22.9	administration's efforts to change vaccine policy. Well, this afternoon, Dr. Menares's attorney said she would not resign,
1:30.2	that she was being targeted for political reasons and that she had not been notified by the White House
1:35.1	that she was fired. But tonight, the White House confirmed she was officially terminated.
