Hello and welcome to this week's episode of what most people think.

And after a brilliant period of weather, the is set to change and it always it never

fails to amaze me how surprised people are by changes in temperature because if you think about

temperature it can only really do three things which is stay the same get hotter or get colder but

it always comes as a shock and as i'm bringing in this week's guest, Stig Abel, Stig, I mean, humans,

are we ever going to wrap our head around weather that it changes?

I love springtime weather because no one, there's no agreement on what the weather's going to be

like. So there's some people in full parkers and hats and gloves. And then there's blokes like

me who wear shorts and a t-shirt more or less for an 11 and a half months of the year, whatever happens. I'm one of those annoying men, middle-aged men. When I'm not working, I'm in shorts. I don't really care what the weather is. If you haven't got your shins out, you don't feel like you're alive even. No, isn't it funny? And I've become addicted to that. I've got horrible legs.

No one needs to see my legs.

Some men, yeah, they just get in them and they won't get out of them. It's almost like an ideological thing. The surprise at changing weather, I think, is up there with how surprised that people are that children look like their parents. Again, it's one of the most likely things, but it never fails to amaze us, does it?

Yeah.

Yeah. Yeah. There's a genetic reason for that. Yeah. I reckon it's because it's the British desire to fill silence. That's what it is. People just can't handle silence. I'm terrible for it. But if you were just quiet for three seconds, I would blurt something shit out just to fill the endless void. Well, you know, it's a good thing that you're working in radio then. Yeah. Stig, you've got a new book out. First, tell us the title of the book. It's called The Burial Place. It's the third. I started writing a detective series. What was the first one came out? Two years ago, this is the third. It's called the Burial Place and it came out a couple of weeks ago.

So what I think is interesting about this is I was reading the blurb and is in part inspired by the archaeological digs and all the historical sites that your old man used to take you on during the holidays.

So on that note,

one of the subjects we're going to discuss this week, as it is the Easter holidays. And we like to, you know, throw the focus on the male experience. It is about, you know, holidays for dads. I was at Chesset and World of Adventure last week. And I've got a, you know, I had a situation where my some wanted me to go on a scary ride and I didn't really want to go on it.

But I did it anyway.

So we're going to unpack some of that.

And this is not to say that it's not hard being a mum to. I always have to caveat of that. Otherwise, there'll be letters. But we will focus on the main experience of school holidays. Politics-wise, we're going to be talking about labor, nationalizing steel. There was the emergency recall Parliament on Saturday, so we'll talk about how that's unfolding. Then the back end of the last week, because I didn't do a breaking news last week. There was a patron-only episode, so if you join that, you'll get that. But there was no breaking news.
