I'm Dr. Marcus Lashley, Professor of Wildlife Ecology at the University of Florida.

And I'm Dr. Will Gulsby, Professor of Wildlife Ecology and Management at Auburn University.

We're both lifelong hunters and devoted scientists who are passionate about hunting,

managing, and researching wild turkeys.

In this podcast, we'll explore turkey research, speak to the experts in the field,

and address the difficult questions related to wild turkey ecology and management.

So, predation, right?

Yes, predation.

And we're talking about this because predators do indeed eat a lot of turkeys.

Yeah, it would seem so.

And I think something important in our audience knows this by now,

but this is one of those issues that it drives a lot of division.

There's a lot of argument.

And it's really not over whether or not things eat turkeys.

It's more about what should we do about it.

Yeah. And that part of it in particular often gets kind of tiptoed around, but we're staying true to form here, and we're not going to do that.

No. We're going to go right after it, knowing that this is a divisive issue.

And I just want to remind everybody that we're trying to give you as well-rounded of a perspective on these things as we can and give you the literature behind it and

try to talk about all the nuances and everything.

And, you know, full well realizing that people argue about this online all the time.
