Over the last few days, Christians and other religious minorities, including Druze and Al-Wite Muslims have been massacred in Syria by soldiers of the country's new Islamist government.

Three months ago, the United States indirectly supported various rebel

groups, some of which were terrorist organizations, in an effort to topple former Syrian

President Bashar al-Assad. Before 2017, the U.S. was actually directly involved in aiding Syrian

rebel groups. And while Assad was far from an ideal leader, he did maintain a degree of tolerance toward

religious minorities, including Christians. The U.S. Turkey and Israel each played roles that

contributed directly or indirectly to Assad's fall. And today, Syria is under the leadership

of a former al-Qaeda terrorist, Ahmed al-Shara.

According to G.B. News, since last Thursday, more than a thousand people have been killed in the worst wave of violence since Assad's downfall back in December.

The violence erupted when gunmen, loyal to the ousted Assad, ambushed a Syrian security patrol,

and then in response, forces linked to Syria's new Islamist rulers launched a brutal crackdown.

And this is the grim reality of regime change, you guys.

This is the instability our government ultimately helped to create. And for what?
