0:17.7	social attitude survey has come out.
0:20.4	It's the 40th in a row.
0:21.6	For the last 40 years, this particular survey has tried to measure the moral landscape
0:26.7	and great Britain.
0:28.4	And listeners in America understand that what happens in Great Britain, what happens in
0:31.8	Europe, it's pretty soon what's happening in the United States.
0:35.5	We're looking at a bell-weather indication of moral change, not only in Great Britain,
0:39.7	but in the Western world.
0:41.8	Patrick Butler reporting for The Guardian tells us, quote, from attitudes to gay sex and
0:46.2	single parenting, devues on abortion and the role of women in the home, Britain has evolved
0:51.1	into a dramatically more liberal-minded country over the past four decades, a landmark study
0:56.4	is found.
