| 0:00.0 | It's Tuesday, November 5, 2024, Election Day in the United States of America. |
| 0:10.5 | I'm Albert Mueller, and this is the briefing, a daily analysis of news and events from a Christian worldview. |
| 0:16.9 | Well, indeed, it is Election Day finally here, although tens of millions of Americans have already |
| 0:22.2 | voted, tens of millions of Americans are likely to go to the polls today. And there is at least a |
| 0:28.2 | projection of a pretty big turnout in terms of historic turnout percentages and raw numbers |
| 0:33.8 | headed into a presidential election. And that is because just about everyone in America |
| 0:39.0 | who is watching this election and understands what's at stake, they understand that there are big |
| 0:44.2 | issues in play. And thus, as I discussed yesterday, if there are people at this point who are |
| 0:49.3 | undecided, it must be because they are profoundly uninvested in the issues and thus in the future of this nation. |
| 0:56.2 | But here's something very interesting. As we go into Election Day, what are we being told? |
| 1:00.1 | We're being told what we've talked about for days, and that is that the election is incredibly close. |
| 1:04.3 | So close, as I warned yesterday, that you shouldn't take any numbers for granted. You should take none of these numbers at face value |
| 1:11.5 | because it takes time to assimilate these numbers responsibly and we've run out of time. But that doesn't |
| 1:18.3 | mean that the candidates and their parties and their campaigns have run out of time or that |
| 1:22.5 | figures in the media have run out of time in terms of pressing the case that the momentum is headed |
| 1:27.2 | one way or the other. |
| 1:28.2 | Frankly, we just don't know. But we're about to know, sort of. Just about every major newspaper |
| 1:34.6 | and news source, the streaming news channels and all the rest, they are telling us that the race |
| 1:39.1 | is close and they're trotting out some numbers in order to try to play some kind of numbers game. |
| 1:44.3 | But at this point, it is a game. |
| 1:46.3 | The only numbers that count at this point are the numbers that come down to votes. |
| 1:51.2 | And that's where the counting is going to become really, really acute. |
