I'm your host Sammy Sage, and the Morning Announcement is your daily five-minute breakdown of the

headlines that isn't afraid to take a side and roast the most consequential reality show

there is.

Our Government President Biden announced yesterday that the Transportation

Department will be writing new regulations that would require airlines to compensate travelers

for flight delays and cancellations, as well as cover their meals and hotel rooms if they're

stranded for reasons with in-me airlines control.

Reasons with in-me airlines control would be things like mechanical issues with the

plane or lack of a crew.

The new regulations will give American consumers protection similar to those in the EU, and

the Transportation Department is expanding their online dashboard that lets consumers

view and compare airline policies on refunds, vouchers, and other compensation such as frequent

flyer miles.

Hopefully, this taste of European-style regulations is more complimentary espresso and less

Ryanair.

The Biden administration also announced that they're sending 1,500 troops to the southern

border and launching migrant processing centers in anticipation of the May 11th end to Trump's

COVID-Arab policy that allowed immigration authorities to turn back the asylum seekers,

known as Title 42.
