I'm Carla Marie and today is Tuesday, June 25th, 2024. The Core 4. The four

headlines you need to know. The founder of WikiLeaks and the White House have just agreed to a plea

deal. If you're not familiar with WikiLeaks, it was founded by Julian Assange back in 2006 and basically served as a platform for leaked documents.

And those leaked documents usually uncovered a ton of information that different politicians, military leaders, and other super powerful people tried to hide.

So, for example, back in 2016, it was WikiLeaks that exposed the Democratic

National Committee's plan to basically block Senator Bernie Sanders from being able to secure

the party's nomination in order to make sure Hillary Clinton got that spot. Wikileaks also exposed

the CIA for using illegal tools to spy on American citizens,

along with exposing a ton of classified military information between countries like the U.S., Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Turkey.

WikiLeaks was also behind the famous leak of Hillary Clinton's emails before the 2016 election,

and since most of the documents exposed by WikiLeaks were classified,

the U.S. government has been trying to get its founder, Julian Assange, arrested and put him on trial
