We are in chapter 9 today, so we were making some progress, and I thoroughly have enjoyed

you being along for the ride. Jose is not an easy book, as we have seen. It has primarily a

negative message, but I think it takes Christian maturity to look at a primarily negative book in the Bible

and realize that there's a very positive purpose for its inclusion in the canon of Scripture.

And that is that we don't have to live a life that has that kind of a negative message.

Why? Because we've learned. We've learned from

all of what God has taught us through the bad experience of Northern Israel, or the Northern

Kingdom, rather Israel. So, Josea chapter 9 today, and look if you would at verse number one,

where it says,

rejoice not, O Israel, for joy as other people.

For thou hast gone a hoaring from thy God, thou has loved a reward upon every corn floor.

So what in the world does that mean? Well, think about it. God is saying

through Josea, this is one of Josea's proclamations, one of his prophecies, God is saying,

tell my people, don't celebrate like other people are celebrating. So probably what was happening in

Jose chapter 9, from the clues that we're going to read, is this was one of their harvest

seasons. Maybe it was the time of like Pentecost, where it was the wheat harvest or maybe some

other one of the grain harvest seasons. And the
