of the headlines that isn't a megaphone for the loudest voices, but a magnifying glass

for the most important news.

After nearly a decade in his role, the soon-to-be not-Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau,

announced yesterday morning that he will be resigning as the leader of the Liberal Party and thus

Prime Minister of Canada. Trudeau had been under increasing pressure to step down,

though he will remain in his role until the party chooses his replacement, and there will be

another election when this parliament is over in late March.

Two potential replacements for Trudeau are ex-deputy Prime Minister Christopher Freeland and former central banker Mark Carney.

Back in the United States, Congress certified Donald Trump's election win yesterday, to the tune

of no controversy or protest, all because Vice President Kamala Harris had the courage to do what
