We're going to begin with China retaliating against President Trump's tariffs.

After he put them on hold for Mexico and Canada hours before they were set to go into effect,

Chief White House correspondent Mary Bruce starts us off.

Well, the trade war that President Trump was threatening against Mexico and Canada has been averted for now.

But tariffs against China still went into effect overnight.

Intended to pressure China to crack down on the flow of fentanyl into the U.S.

And this morning, Beijing is now quickly responding.

Overnight, China firing back.

After President Trump's 10% tariff went into effect at midnight, Beijing swiftly retaliating,

with tariffs on American goods, including coal, liquefied natural gas, crude oil, agricultural

machinery, and pickup trucks. China also restricting the export of critical minerals used to produce
