truth social post by President Donald Trump, he has ordered the Treasury Department to stop

printing pennies because there are a waste of money. Now, to Trump's defense, it does cost more to make

a penny than the actual value of one cent. But it's also important to remember that the government is not

a business. Sometimes the government does need to invest in things that it will not see a return on.

According to the most recent data that I could find, the United States spent about $180 million

producing pennies in 2023. And if you want an example of a country that has gotten

rid of its penny, you just got to look north to Canada because they stopped circulating
