The head of Boeing got a bipartisan drubbing on Capitol Hill today. Democrats and Republicans ripped into CEO Dave Calhoun as more allegations of safety problems and retaliation against whistleblowers emerged.

Republican Josh Hawley of Missouri berated Calhoun.

I don't think the problems with the employees.

Oh, it's not.

It is not.

I agree.

I think the problem's with you.

You. It's the C-suite. It's the management. It's what you've done to this company. That's where the problem is. The problem's at the top. And I just hope to God that you don't destroy this company before it can be saved. Thank you, Mr. Chairman. Calhoun began his testimony by turning around and apologizing to family members of crash victims in the audience.

Last week, a whistleblower said Boeing's rent-in plant was intentionally hiding problems from federal inspectors.

Democrat Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut called today's hearing a moment of reckoning and said individual managers need to be prosecuted.

Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell says he supports former Seattle Police Chief Adrian Diaz for sharing news about his sexual orientation.

On Monday, Diaz made an announcement about his personal life.

It's a story that has struggled with over the last four years that I'm a gay Latino man.

And not, you know, it doesn't bother me.

It's more of my concern for my kids because they're going to have to deal with a lot of

the struggles that I might not have to deal with.

Diaz made those comments to KTTH Radio's Jason Rance.

Mayor Bruce Harrell reassigned Diaz last month after a string of workplace

discrimination lawsuits filed against the department, including allegations that Diaz

sexually harassed female officers at SPD.

Diaz denies those allegations.
