The Millionaire's Tax is officially on the docket in the Washington State Legislature. The bill

brought by Democrats would apply a tax to every dollar over a million bucks a household makes a year.

Governor Bob Ferguson says it's a good start, but he says the current proposal doesn't give

enough tax relief to small businesses and low-income families.

A significant percentage of these revenues must go back into the pocket of Washingtonians.

The current proposal is not close to achieving that important objective.

The bill would cut sales taxes on personal hygiene products like deodorant, shampoo, and toothpaste.

An estimated 30,000 of the state's richest residents would then be subject to this new income tax if it passes.
