The state of the state of Washington, Washington has the ninth largest economy in the nation.

It dominates space industry manufacturing and it's building the world's first commercial fusion power plant in Shalan County.

Those are lines from Governor Bob Ferguson's State of the State addressed today in Olympia.

In it, he continued to push for a so-called millionaires tax.

Scott Greenstone has more.

Ferguson addressed both chambers of the state legislature, pushing for a tax on incomes over $1 million a year.

That's an idea the Democratic governor first endorsed last month,

but Tuesday, he added something new. Ferguson said part of that proposal should get rid of a tax

small businesses pay. If you own a business and you gross $800,000 annually, you have a ton of

expenses and currently pay about $4,000 in B&O tax.

That small business owner should pay nothing.

He's referring to the business and occupation tax.

Republicans have proposed reducing those taxes in the past, but said a so-called millionaire's

tax would be bad for business.
