You know, something I want to bring up here before I get into the mailbag stuff,

and it's something I'm going to bring it up today because I know I'm going to forget

when it's actually the 40th anniversary, which would be May 2nd to the 4th.

That's when the 1979 NFL draft happened, May 2nd to the 4th.

So we're coming up on the 40th anniversary of the 1979

NFL draft. So why is that important? Well the 49ers earned the first pick in the

draft that year, But that pick belonged to Buffalo because the 49ers

traded for OJ Simpson from the Buffalo Bills.

The more significant things also happen in the 1979 draft, but the 49ers traded the first pick what ended up being the first pick in the NFL draft

to Buffalo for O.J. Simpson. Not a great trade. The bills drafted Ohio State

linebacker Tom Kuzano. Not a great draft pick. So didn't, you know, if they were
