Summary

Welcome to the second episode of our new segment, "TSFU INTERVIEWS..."!

In this episode, Fallon sits down with author Cait West to chat about her life and her new memoir, "Rift: A Memoir of Breaking Away from Christian Patriarchy". Cait spills all the details about growing up in the strict Christian Patriarchy movement, which adopts the beliefs of the Quiverfull Movement (check out our episode "The New F Word- Ep. 5: "Under Authority" and The Quiverfull Movement") and emphasizes men's role of authority.  She was groomed to be a stay-at-home daughter with no college or career in sight. Every detail of her life was controlled until she found the courage to escape.

Rift is Cait's amazing story of breaking free from this oppressive upbringing and forging her own path. She dives into the lingering effects of patriarchal religious trauma and her own role in those systems. Her story sheds light on the impacts of "purity culture" and the abuse in some extremist Christian communities.
